No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. John 15:15

It is the Father’s heart for all believers to be sons and daughters inside and out.  When we first come into the Kingdom, we arrive as servants.  Practically speaking, this is how the Lord interacts with us.  We are told what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.  This is best until our adoption as sons and daughters is complete.  This process takes years as the word of the Lord effectually changes us from our inner man out.

Eventually, if we stay in our process, we graduate into full sonship.  The line between the Lord interacting with us as servants or sons is not easily defined.  As we grow in Him, there will be some areas in which we thrive in growth.  There will be some areas in which we struggle to grow.  Regardless of where you are, stay in the process!

How about you, where are you on the road to sonship?  Does the Father interact with you more as a servant or friend?  It is imperative we locate those areas that need attention.  Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a picture of where you actually are on the road to sonship.
